Hall of Fame

The purpose of the CABA USBC HALL OF FAME AND SPECIAL AWARDS program shall be to perpetuate and honor the names of our association members who have displayed outstanding ability and character in the game of bowling and or recognize meritorious contributions of service and the promotion of the game in the area served by the CABA USBC.

NOMINATION PROCEDURE

Any active USBC CABA member may submit a nomination.  Nominations received by the CABA USBC will be kept on file for consideration for a period of three (3) years.  Formal nominations will be accepted on CABA USBC Nomination forms only.

  1. Deadline for nominations will be October 1st of each year.
  2. Nominations are to be submitted to the CABA USBC president or association manager.
  3. Nominations for members of the CABA USBC HALL of FAME maybe made for posthumous members.

SELECTION PROCESS & AWARDS

The committee will meet one week after the close of nominations to begin the research process of the nominees.  The selection will be determined by majority ballot vote. Inductees will receive a meritorious token of appreciation at their induction.  Inductee’s plaques will be added to the CABA USBC HALL OF FAME Induction Board.

HALL OF FAME NOMINEE QUALIFICATIONS

Requirements for nominees are as follows;

  1. Must be a participating member of the CABA USBC for a minimum of ten (10) years.
  2. Outstanding dependable participation record.
  3. Displays good sportsmanship.
  4. Achievements and special awards.
  5. Exemplified distinguished service, devotion and ability to the promotion of American Tenpins.

BOWLER OF THE YEAR AWARD

The “Bowler of the Year” is not a nominated award.  It is an award earned on performance by compiling the highest accumulated average within the CABA USBC.  In the event two or more persons qualify, the award will be given to the bowler who bowled the most games.

Requirements for Bowler of the Year;

  1. He or She shall be a member of the CABA USBC and in good standings of each league she participated in.
  2. He or She shall be a CABA USBC member for a minimum of three (3) years.
  3. He or She must bowl two-thirds (2/3rd) of a season three (3) consecutive years, excluding summer leagues.

NORMA BOERSMA MEMORIAL AWARD

The Norma Boersma Memorial award is not a nominated award.  It is an award based on age of a female bowler 55 years or older and earned on performance by compiling the highest accumulated average within the CABA USBC.  In the event two or more persons qualify, the award will be given to the bowler who bowled the most games.  The Norma Boersma Memorial Award is based on a yearly achievement and not limited to once in a lifetime.

Requirements;

  1. She shall be a member of the CABA USBC and in good standings of each league she participated in.
  2. She shall be a CABA USBC member for a minimum of three (3) years.
  3. She must be a minimum of Fifty-five (55) years of age prior to the start of a bowling season.
  4. She must bowl Two-thirds (2/3rd) of a season three (3) consecutive years, excluding summer leagues.

MALE MEMORIAL AWARD (NAME TO BE DETERMINED BY THE BOARD)

The TBD Memorial award is not a nominated award.  It is an award based on age of a male bowler 55 years or older and earned on performance by compiling the highest accumulated average within the CABA USBC.  In the event two or more persons qualify, the award will be given to the bowler who bowled the most games.  The TBD Memorial Award is based on a yearly achievement and not limited to once in a lifetime.

Requirements;

  1. He shall be a member of the CABA USBC and in good standings of each league he participated in.
  2. He shall be a CABA USBC member for a minimum of three (3) years.
  3. He must be a minimum of Fifty-Five (55) years of age prior to the start of a bowling season.
  4. He must bowl Two-thirds (2/3rd) of a season three (3) consecutive years, excluding summer leagues.

DIAMOND AWARD

Diamond awards are presented once in a lifetime and recognized with an association pin or equivalent and a certificate of achievement.

Requirements;

  1. He or She shall be a member of the CABA USBC and in good standings of each league they participated in.
  2. He or She shall be a CABA USBC member for a minimum of three (3) years.
  3. He or She must bowl Two-thirds (2/3rd) of a season three (3) consecutive years, excluding summer leagues.
  4. He or She must be at least Seventy-five (75) years of age.

RUBY AWARD

Ruby awards are presented once in a lifetime and recognized with an association pin or equivalent and a certificate of achievement.

Requirements;

  1. He or She shall be a member of the CABA USBC and in good standings of each league they participated in.
  2. He or She shall be a CABA USBC member for a minimum of three (3) years.
  3. He or She must bowl Two-thirds (2/3rd) of a season three (3) consecutive years excluding summer leagues.
  4. He or She must be at least Eighty (80) years of age.
